Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how CodePLU ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use codeplu.com. CodePLU is currently a free, ad-supported learning platform that does not require registration or an account. By using CodePLU, you acknowledge this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Because CodePLU has no user accounts, we do not ask you for personal information to use the platform. The information we handle falls into three groups:
- Usage and learning-interaction data — pages viewed and anonymous interaction events such as playground activity (for example connecting or validating nodes) and quiz completion. We use this to understand which learning experiences work. It is collected through Google Analytics and is not tied to your name or identity by us.
- Technical data — browser type, device category, approximate (IP-derived) location, and diagnostic information, collected automatically by our analytics and hosting infrastructure.
- Information you send us — if you contact us (for example by email or a contact form), we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name and email address.
3. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
CodePLU uses Google Analytics to measure how the platform is used, and Google AdSense to serve the advertising that keeps free content free. These services may set cookies and similar technologies. Google may use advertising cookies (including, where applicable, personalized advertising based on your visits to this and other websites). You can control personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com. You can also limit cookies through your browser settings; the learning content works without them.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate and improve the platform, understand which tutorials and interactive features help learners most, maintain security and prevent abuse, respond to messages you send us, and measure advertising performance.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers that run CodePLU — hosting infrastructure (Amazon Web Services), analytics and advertising (Google) — and when required by law or valid legal process.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable laws, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you (in practice, this mainly applies to correspondence you have sent us). You can opt out of personalized advertising through the Google links in section 3. To make a request, contact us via the details on our Contact page.
7. Security and Retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data, and we keep analytics data only as long as needed for the purposes above. No internet system is fully risk-free, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Children's Privacy
CodePLU's educational content is appropriate for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the platform requires no registration. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us (for example via email), contact us so we can review and delete it where applicable.
9. Future Features
CodePLU plans to introduce optional features over time, such as user accounts, subscriptions for an ad-free experience, and tools for course creators. If and when these launch, they will involve additional data (such as account and payment information), and this policy will be updated before such features go live, with clear notice on this page.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Updates become effective when posted. Please review this page periodically. Last updated: July 26, 2026.
