About CodePLU

Upgrading Mental Models

CodePLU is a node-based learning platform. We believe the fastest way to understand any concept — in any subject — is to build it, not read about it.

Why node-based learning, and why now

Node-and-workflow interfaces have existed for decades, but they used to belong to specialists. That changed. Today the tools people use every day — automation platforms, AI builders, design canvases, visual editors — all speak the same visual language: nodes, connections, and flows.

CodePLU applies that familiar language to learning itself. Every concept on the platform is expressed as a small interactive workflow: you connect the pieces, validate your thinking, get it wrong, correct it, and walk away with a mental model you built with your own hands.

This is not a gimmick — it is learning science. Active recall and immediate feedback are among the most effective learning techniques known, and passive reading is among the weakest. Our playgrounds are those techniques, turned into an interface.

One method, every subject

We started with computing topics — artificial intelligence, machine learning, programming — because those communities already think in workflows. But the method is bigger than any one field. Processes in science, cause-and-effect in history, step-by-step reasoning in mathematics, classifications in biology, relationships in language and the arts: all of these are node-shaped ideas.

Every CodePLU tutorial is built on one of six concept patterns — workflows, cycles, cause–effect chains, classifications, relationship maps, and derivations — so the experience stays consistent no matter the subject.

What every tutorial gives you

  • A concept playground — an interactive node canvas where you build the concept, with reset, hints, challenge mode, and validation.
  • A clear explanation — short, structured, and written to support the practice, not replace it.
  • A real-world example — the concept applied where you would actually meet it.
  • FAQs and a quiz — to test the same mental model you just built.

Our promise

If a concept cannot be practiced — connected, gotten wrong, corrected — we do not publish it. No decorative diagrams on top of passive articles. Active learning only.

Where CodePLU is going

Today, CodePLU is free and supported by advertising, and it does not require an account. As the platform grows we plan to expand into more subjects, add gamified progress, and eventually offer optional subscriptions for an ad-free experience and tools for educators to create their own node-based courses. Free learning will remain at the heart of the platform.
